Cape May Full Moon Ride - Confirmed - Good To Go

Good morning everyone,

Just wondering what the plan is for the Cape May Full Moon Ride? Please post so that we can make plans to join up with everyone.

It was a great ride. A little warm for the ride down but the air temps were around 82 on the ferry and most of the ride home. Dinner was great and the full moon/setting sun cooperated with us..It was fun !!!  I would like to say thanks to Tim (the new guy) and Angel for making it a blast.

Steve & I will not be attending this event today we hope everyone that goes has a super time and be careful with the heat.  The heat index is expected to be very high today so please stay cool if you are attending.

Carol and I will not be making the trip.  We feel the heat will be too much to ride that long in.  We were hoping the forecast would change.  Have a great trip and be safe.

It looks like the weather is going to cooperate. so lets go have some fun. The only way to be 100% sure of a spot on the ferry is to make a reservation - 7:45 from Lewes to Cape May. It is not mandatory just a good idea. I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING EVERYONE AT THE PETRO!!!!

**** UPDATE: I HAVE CONFLICTING WEATHER REPORTS .  I WOULD SUGGEST HOLDING ON MAKING YOUR FERRY RESERVATIONS UNTIL THURSDAY, WHEN I CAN GET A CLEANER WEATHER REPORT AND MAKE A FINAL DECISION. 

THE PLAN IS STILL TO MAKE THIS RIDE. HOWEVER THE WEATHER IS CRITICAL - I DONT WANT TO WASTE ANYONES TIME OR MONEY.

I WILL POST ON THURSDAY - JULY 22nd!!

Plans are to ride down to Lewes Delaware for dinner and a full moon cruise back to New Jersey on the ferry. We will meet at the Petro truck stop at 1:30pm and take 295 south to Del.  where we will use the back roads to Lewes arriving at approximatly 5:00pm. We will enjoy a nice dinner at the Irish Eyes pub (same place as the polar bear meet) then take the 7:45pm ferry across to Cape May. The moon will be full and the sun will be setting. You can see one off of each side of the ferry if timed right.

Approximatly 1 week prior to this ride (July 18 or 19) you will need to make reservations for the 7:45 ferry from Lewes to NJ for July 24th.

NOTE: This ride is weather based, if its cloudy or raining the view is severly diminished, so a decision will be made on July 22nd and posted here as to whether or not to make reservations.

Reb,

I made my reservations last night, as the only comment update was from Desi.

If we cancel that is fine, but lets make that call by tonight. At least our only cost will be $5.

I am concerned about the expected heat index of 108 to 110 for Saturday. If we do go we will probably need some extra stops for water at least.

Terri will not be coming for sure, but at the moment I am planning on it. Hey I have gone stag to other events. :-)

Neither Terri or I will be attending. We will meet everyone at the Petro, but based upon the heat index and all that I have been through, holding off this time is probably the appropriate thing to do. It not clear how I would handle heat of this type for such a long ride. 

For all of those attending, be careful. The heat will be intense tomorrow.
