Today we're planning on heading out to Ringing Rocks. Ringing Rocks Park is a 128 acre park nestled in the woods in Upper Black Eddy. Located within the park is a field of boulders, about 7-8 acres in size, that have an unusual property. When the rocks are struck with a hammer or another rock, they sound as if they are metal and hollow and ring with a sound similar to a metal pipe being struck. The park also has Bucks County's largest waterfall. Make sure that you bring a hammer with you and wear sturdy shoes as you will be climbing on rock formations.
Since several of us will be headed to the Balloon Festival, we will be departing from there. We are planning to leave there at noon. When we depart, we will take Rt 620 West to Rt 523 South to Rt 629 North to Main St West to Rt 22 West to Rt 31 North to Rt 623 South to Rt 643 South to Rt 173 East to Rt 614 South to Rt 519 South to Milford NJ then over the bridge to River Rd n to Bridgton Hill Rd West to Ringing Rocks Rd.. This should be a very nice ride with some great scenery. Arrival should be around 1:30 pm.
After we have finished at the park, we will come back across the river to Milford where the south group will head home by way of the river road for the beautiful ride along the Delaware River, the north group can take Rt 519 North to Rt 614 North to Rt 78 East.
